Sustainable Initiatives at The Chedi

 

We at The Chedi Luštica Bay believe that nature is something to be cherished and protected, and we hope you feel the same way too. Our decisions impact the surrounding community, ecosystem, and economy. Thus, we have been implementing green initiatives throughout The Chedi hotel, intending to become as environmentally friendly as possible in all our operations. Our main sustainable initiatives go with our mission of historical preservation and community-building.

 

 

At The Chedi Luštica Bay, we are passionate about protecting the environment and excited to share our latest green initiatives! We have implemented several green initiatives to reduce our carbon footprint. The hotel's daily carbon footprint per occupied room is only 6.15 kgCO2e/occ room, significantly lower than the global industry average. In addition to reducing its carbon footprint, the hotel has implemented recycling and waste reduction initiatives. Plastic packaging and cardboard are recycled, and food waste is processed to limit the total waste.

 

 

The use of plastic is reducing, and eco-friendly water purification systems and reusable bottles offer a sustainable solution to water provision, eliminating the need for single-use plastic water bottles.

   

The Chedi hotel follows the "Return and Earn" principle with its suppliers for most glass bottles. Also, the garbage disposal is coordinated with Luštica Bay to optimize loads and reduce the number of trips. The hotel saves energy and water by implementing motion detectors, light detectors, key card power switches, water flow reducers in shower heads and water taps, etc. We are demonstrating our alignment with the values of our guests by committing to sustainable practices by implemented the Green Option via our suitpads so guests can reject daily service.

 

 

Through the Save The Planet initiative, we encourage our guests to reduce the use of water, electricity, and chemicals spent for washing towels and linen. Dispensers and biodegradable room amenities such as dental kits, vanity sets, and shaving sets are implemented in all guest rooms.

   

In addition to its green initiatives, The Chedi hotel also has several initiatives aimed at giving back to the community. All linen is donated to hospitals and orphanages, and the hotel has a Giving Bag in guest rooms where guests can donate items that we will distribute to local associations helping people in need.

The hotel also supports local suppliers and constantly looks for new sustainable products to incorporate into its menu.

   

In pursuit of the freshest ingredients, we have decided to grow our own lemons, which we use to make delicious juices for our guests.

 

 

The Chedi Luštica Bay is proud to help you charge your electric vehicle quickly and efficiently.

   

One of the initiatives was the first Tesla Destination Chargers in Montenegro in 2018.

But that was just the beginning. Since then, we have provided more power stations for electric cars: 3 Tesla chargers and 2 Porsche chargers are available in the hotel parking area for our guests at no cost.

 

 

We are a part of numerous green certification schemes, such as Green Key and Zero Waste Montenegro, but we chose to go above and beyond by partnering with the EarthCheck Program.
